Philadelphia 76ers rookie power forward, Nerlens Noel, is having a pretty good rookie season. After being drafted 6th overall in the 2013 NBA Draft, Noel missed the 2013-14 season due to knee surgery and is making his debut this season. He is averaging 9.2 ppg and 7.8 rebounds this season, which doesn't jump out at you, but at only 20 years. He can be an All-Star in years to come. His front court teammate, Joel Embiid, also has All-Star potential.
Joel Embiid is the Philadelphia 76ers center, who was drafted in the 2014 NBA Draft. Joel Embiid, 21, has been out the entire year with an injury that is similar to Noel's last year, but when he returns they will form a young but skilled frontline.
Nerlens Noel may not be the greatest player on the 76ers (that honor will belongs to Joel Embiid), but he can be an excellent complimentary player and 2nd option on the team. If there were any two players who complimented each other's game, it's these two.
Joel Embiid is the scorer of the two as his game has been compared to the great Hakeem Olajuwon. He has great post moves and has a great finesse touch around the basket. Noel, on the other hand, is more of a defensive player. He has great defensive awareness and could definitely win Defensive
Player of the Year down the line.
Noel and Embiid are two promising front court players that have potential to be a dominant frontline, similar to Tim Duncan and David Robinson of the past Spurs teams. Nerlens can take some pressure off Embiid on the offensive end as he has shown that he can score this season, and Embiid can definitely take some pressure off at the defensive end because the man is an intimidating 7 feet tall.
The Philadelphia 76ers have been struggling the past few years, but once these two start to play with each other, in combination with the 76ers getting better players, the 76ers will be a team to watch and could be a contender for a championship in the future. It may take a while, but it will be worth the wait
