Cavaliers VS. Celtics Game Four
The Boston Celtics magical run to the playoffs has come to an end, at the hands of the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Cavs were heavy favorites in this series, and took care of business sweeping the up and coming Celtics, in 101-93 game four win.
The Celtics made runs during this series to keep games close. They showed grit, but they were just too out-matched in game four, and never really posing a threat to Cleveland.
The Celtics couldn’t keep it close because of their inability to shoot, struggling from the floor and free throw line. The Cavs took a 21 point lead into halftime ending the half on a 14-4 run.
The game was very physical. e saw two injuries to Kevin Love and Jae Crowder, and one ejection, as J.R Smith was tossed for hitting Crowder. Kendrick Perkins could have easily been ejected as well for a hard screen, and then pushing Crowder.
Boston cut it to as low as six with 30 seconds left, but never really had a chance. The Cavs won this game by playing great defense and will move on to play the winner of the Chicago Bulls and Milwaukee Bucks series.
Player of the Game
Iman Shumpert- With Love and Smith out Shumpert stepped up delivering 15 points hitting three of his four shots. He played tremendous defense grabbing 10 rebounds and preventing the Celtics from getting into a rhythm offensively.
Dud of the Game
Isiah Thomas- He put up 21 points and nine assists, but shot four for 17 from the field
Stat of the Game- The Celtics shot three for 23 from behind the arc.
The Cavs win their first playoff series since 2010, but in the process lose Kevin Love to a shoulder injury. We don’t know how long he will be out yet, but he did not return to the game after injuring it late in the first. That could be a serious problem for their next round against the Bulls.
