Congratulations to The Golden State Warriors, the 2015 NBA Finals Champs. The Cleveland Cavaliers gave it their best shot with a team missing Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving dearly. The Warriors won 105-97.
1.LeBron James as exhausted as he looked and surely was did once again all he could. LeBron finished with, 32 points, grabbed 18 rebounds and dished out nine assists, just missing his what would’ve been third Triple-Double of the series. LeBron James, now has some time to rest up and look forward to having a healthy team next season. LeBron will be back in this situation very soon.
2.J.R Smith was the dud of the series for the Cavs and again in Game 6. Smith finished with 19 points, however, most of his points came when the game was pretty much decided. Smith just didn’t look connected or confident at all in this series. Smith has some serious work to put in this offseason to help the Cavs return to the finals in 2016.
3.The Cavs finally took advantage of the smaller lineup of the Warriors. The Cavs won the rebound category 56 to 39. This is what kept the Cavs around in much of Game 6. but it just wasn’t enough to slow down this scoring juggernaut of the Warriors .
4.The biggest deciding factor of Game 6 was the turnovers. The Cavaliers had 19 turnovers and still only lost by eight points. A cleaner 48 minutes, this outcome becomes all whole lot different.
5.The Cavs’ season and the NBA season is finally over. This Cavaliers team faced a lot of adversity throughout this season, yet still came out of the East Conference on top. The Cavs lost two All-Stars in Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love in these playoffs, and that was just too much to overcome. The role players on the Cavs struggled in this series, although they played huge roles throughout the season and the prior rounds to reach the finals. The Cavs will learn from this, become healthy for next season, and will remain a title contender as long as LeBron James stays home.
Notable Mention: Andre Iguodala put his finishing touch on a great finals series winning Finals MVP. Solidifying he was the X-Factor for the Warriors. Congrats to the whole Golden State Warriors franchise on a great season, and ending the 40 year title drought.
