Warriors Player of the Game:
Steph Curry 25 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists
1. Kerr makes crucial adjustments.
Steve Kerr decided to play Festus Ezeli more minutes in this game and it proved to be effective. He scored 10 points in critical moments helping the Warriors gain the lead or keeping the lead over the Cleveland Cavaliers. Kerr also utilized Green a lot during this game, and Green answered by recording a triple double. Green scored 16 points, grabbed 11 rebounds, and dished out 10 assists as he easily had his best game of the series. Once again Steve Kerr out coached David Blatt.
2. Andre Iguodala is named Finals MVP.
Andre Iguodala has been featured or mentioned in each of my six articles and rightfully so. Iggy has been consistent for the Warriors in every game they played. Tonight he put in 25 points, five rebounds and five assists. He played stellar defense on Lebron from game one, he scored in pivotal moments, and at times controlled the offense. Iguodala became the first player in NBA history to win the finals MVP award without starting a game prior to that series. Iguodala deserves the MVP award because if it wasn't for him the Golden State Warriors would not be champions.
3. The #1 offensive team showed up.
During the first five games of this series, the Warriors had trouble scoring. Even though they won some games and were up in the series,their offense was stagnant and they were winning mainly off of their defense. Tonight, the Warriors played like the offensive team they were during the regular season. They shot 43 percent from the field, knocked down 13 threes, and dished out 28 assists while only committing nine turnovers. Warriors execution in this game was excellent, particularly in the third and fourth quarters.
4. Warriors kept the pressure on.
In the third quarter, the Warriors attacked the Cavaliers from the jump. They got off to a 7-0 start in the beginning that eventually developed into a 19-5 run. Midway through the third quarter, the Warriors gained a 15 point lead and kept their foot on the gas. Andre Iguodala, Steph Curry, and Klay Thompson knocked down some crucial threes in the fourth quarter to put the game ahead 89-75. They never looked back after that.
5. The Warriors are a complete team and are champions.
The Warriors have been the best team in the NBA since opening night. Led by their rookie head coach, Steve Kerr, they won 67 games, was the #1 defensive and offensive team in the league, and had the league's MVP Steph Curry. In this finals, they played poorly in the first few games, but they remained poised and reminded everyone why they are the best team in the league and now they are the 2015 NBA CHAMPIONS!
