The first installment of NBA Games of the Week started out with a bang. The first three contests were decided late in the fourth quarter and I was feeling good. Then Friday night happened. If you spent your time watching the nationally televised doubleheader on ESPN…I am truly sorry. What you missed on league pass was Oklahoma City and Orlando playing the best game of the young season. But, allow me to redeem myself, with six more games you need to be on the lookout for during week two of the NBA season.
Oklahoma City Thunder @ Houston Rockets
Oklahoma City is off to a thunderous start while there are early season problems in Houston. With Harden already trying to overcome the Based God and Kardashian curses, he now faces the toughest obstacle in the league in Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook. This will be an exciting game played in transition and will provide plenty of jaw dropping shot making in the half-court. Start your week off with three of the elite players in the association.
Atlanta Hawks @ Miami Heat
The Hawks migrate to South Beach to face the Heat in a Southeast showdown. Miami has been touted as the wild card in the East, but have looked mediocre during the early season. With Atlanta’s offense rolling, will the Heat have enough to slow down the sharp shooting Hawks?
San Antonio Spurs @ Washington Wizards
The Spurs roll into the Verizon Center to take on the Wizards in what will be a huge test for the Wizards. Wall will have to carry the Wizards as he’s not getting consistent help from his supporting cast. And more Wall means more hand signs and chest thumps after every single positive play. All jokes aside, this should be a fun game.
Los Angeles Clippers @ Golden State Warriors
Best game of the week. Nothing further.
Toronto Raptors @ Orlando Magic
Orlando has been league pass gold so far during the early season, and this game should be no different. The Magic are loaded with young talent and are pushing for a playoff seed in the East. Only way to get there is through playoff teams like the Raptors.
Minnesota Timberwolves @ Chicago Bulls
Speaking of young talent, Karl-Anthony Towns looks like the truth. He now goes up against one of the deepest front lines in the Chicago Bulls. Also as a side note, that secondary logo for the Wolves is great. Can’t you imagine KG howling at the moon after made baskets. Maybe you’ll see him do it if the Wolves can pick up the dub. Rest in peace Flip.
