I may or may not have predicted Rick Carlisle getting canned. Well, let’s just pretend that didn’t happen. He was on the last year of his deal, they brought in a troubled point guard, ….. Let’s be honest, you’re laughing at me right now. I don’t blame you. However, the Mavs have started out with a .500 record. I think that will be all you can expect from this team this year. Yes, I am a little bitter over the Carlisle prediction.

Hopefully they are going to rip that contract up and fire Carlisle! Too strong? Look, I didn’t have high hopes for the Mavs and they haven’t showed me anything to change my mind so far. They have a soft schedule coming up, look for them to rattle off a few wins and talks of Carlisle being coach of the year. Sheesh.

Houston Rockets

After starting out on a three game skid, the Rockets have won their last four. Harden dropped 46 last night as he seems to have turned things around. There is no doubt the Rockets have the talent for a playoff run, but mental toughness is still in doubt.

The Rockets should pick up a good amount of wins of the coming weeks. They will be favored to win their next four games, at least. It’s still early in the season, but the Rockets need to take advantage of this mediocre schedule they have coming up.

Memphis Grizzlies

Hot or Cold? It’s hard to say what team is showing up for the Grizzlies right now. With back-to-back losses to the Trail Blazers and Jazz, Memphis has lost its mojo.

With the Clippers and Golden State next up, don’t be surprised if this losing streak is extended to 4 games. The news only gets worse from there. Here is their schedule from November 16-25: Thunder, Rockets, Spurs, Mavs, and Rockets. Yikes!

This is just depressing. All of that hype, for this. This is an 0-6 start. I didn’t expect a 6-0 start, but that schedule should have produced a 3-3 record so far. I’m not saying fire the coach, but I am asking what is going on in the Big Easy?

Things doing get any easier for the Pels as they will take on the Mavs Tuesday. I’m not sure where the bleeding stops, I only hope it stops soon.

The Spurs are, well, the Spurs. Can we just give them the title already?

Stay tuned to watch Pop lead his team to another championship. I know, it’s a little cocky, but I did predict them to go down as an all-time great time, so I’m all in!
