The Warriors have been on fire. Steph Curry is making shots that aren’t possible in NBA 2K even with the sliders set in your favor. They are the clear cut best team in the league to this point, and it’s hard to see that changing with the way they are playing. They’ve blown teams out, including beating Memphis by 50…which is absurd when you think about how some college teams don’t score 50 in a game.
Los Angeles Clippers

Clippers have looked like a Western Conference power thus far. They have two losses, a close one to the Warriors and a controversial one to the Rockets. Blake Griffin has been awesome, continuing to take his game to the next level. Chris Paul is hobbled with a groin strain which adds to his concerning soft tissue injury history, but with Blake growing into the number one option, the Clips should be fine.
Phoenix Suns

Phoenix has been mediocre in this early season. I can’t quite put my finger on why they aren’t better when I think they should be. Maybe they traded away the wrong Morris twin because Marcus is thriving with the Pistons while Markieff looks disinterested with the Suns. That has to change if the Suns want to finally get back into the playoffs. Good thing it’s super early and they have a lot of time to figure it out.
Los Angeles Lakers

It is super early, but we already know the outcome with this Lakers team. This team isn’t going anywhere. The defense is awful and Kobe has been hard to watch this season. It’s hard to watch him play nowadays, especially after the brilliance he’s displayed throughout his legendary career. Lakers do have bright spots in Julius Randle and Jordan Clarkson.
Sacramento Kings

Sacramento has gotten off to a rough start, but have played much better than their record indicates. Boogie Cousins has been out with a strained Achilles but he’s been awesome when he’s on the court. One surprise (well, maybe not) is that Ben McLemore has been benched in favor of Marco Belinelli. Rajon Rondo still can’t shoot, but he’s looked like the Rondo of old. If the Kings can get healthy and have more time on the court to gel, they should be players by the end of the season.
