He’s the guy you love to hate: the self-proclaimed “asshole” that does what he wants when he wants. Rajon Rondo marches to the beat of his own drum, and that beat is unlike any other.
The Sacramento Kings point guard has officially bounced back after a tumultuous stint with the Dallas Mavericks. Rondo now runs the show in Sac-town and his teammates are benefitting from his championship experience and unselfish play.
Leading the league in assists by dishing out over 11 dimes a game, Rondo is poised to regain the assists title which he twice previously held during his time with the Boston Celtics. He’s making his presence felt on the court by averaging a double double and posting four triple doubles this season. It’s safe to say that the Rondo of old is back in action.
The 6’1” point guard is making a strong case to be an all-star in a competitive Western Conference. He hasn’t played with such grit and passion since he tore his ACL in January of the 2012/2013 season. Now, the savvy veteran is making life easier for his teammates on the court and passing wisdom down to them when it matters most.

Rondo has become like a big brother for his fellow Kentucky alum, Demarcus Cousins. Rondo has been relaying the same colorful words of wisdom and advice that seasoned veterans Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett bestowed upon him while he was the young gun in Boston. Cousins sees Rondo as a mentor and has stated that he is the best point guard in the league. Rondo has returned the love and respect by deeming Boogie Cousins as the best big man in the NBA right now.
Rondo has been the best point guard for this Kings team since the days of Jason Williams. He has given Sacramento fans reason to be excited about their team with his swift dishes and tenacious play. Say what you want about the four time NBA all--star, but he’s killing it this season.
