NBA Games of the Week (Jan 25 – Jan 31)

Parth Goradia

Last week, I decided to break my six game default for Games of the Week. This week, I decided to put the San Antonio Spurs on twice, even though I had previously stated I wouldn’t put any teams on twice. The Spurs rarely get their mainstream recognition, so I thought we’d give them a shout out. So much change the past two weeks, must be election season.

San Antonio Spurs @ Golden State Warriors

Who’s the best team in the league? It’s finally time to find out.

Washington Wizards @ Toronto Raptors

Remember that sweep from last year’s playoffs? Yeah I don’t either. The Raptors are slowly claiming their place in the East while the Wizards have regressed after last season’s playoff success. This matchup also features the two best point guards in the Eastern Conference in John Wall and Kyle Lowry.

Sacramento Kings @ New Orleans Pelicans

We are in for another Kentucky alum showdown as the Kings come to the city George W. Bush still might not care about, to face the Pelicans. DeMarcus Cousins is an animal. Anthony Davis is a beast. But who will be a different animal, and the same beast? Let’s ask kanYe West.

Los Angeles Lakers @ Los Angeles Clippers

I really love these in-city rivalry games. Look, I get it, the Lakers aren’t very good while the Clippers are looking elite. But from what I can gather here in Virginia, Los Angeles is, and will always be, a Lakers town. Sure it’s a Clippers home game, but I’m not even sure if those actually exist with the cheers away teams get. Lakers all day baby…until the game starts.

San Antonio Spurs @ Cleveland Cavaliers

So Cleveland’s first primetime showcase didn’t go quite the way new head coach, Tyronn Lue, would’ve hoped. Good thing the Cavs have another Saturday night primetime game where they can make a statement, and what better opponent to make a statement against than the San Antonio Spurs?
