The Portland Trailblazers are set to take on the Golden State Warriors tonight in Game 2 as they look to even the series after a Game 1 loss to the Golden State Warriors. The Trail Blazers' Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum are looking to turn the series in their favor as the Warriors will be without Stephen Curry again. Even though the Warriors are the favorites, can the Portland Trail Blazers win tonight's game and eventually the series? The answer is a resounding no and here's a few reasons why.
The Warriors are deeper than the Portland Trailblazers

The Warriors convincingly won Game 1 as they led by as many as 26 points. This was done with minimal help from the bench. The Blazers actually scored more points off the bench than the Warriors, 38 to 26, and they still lost by double digits. That is a demoralizing stat because the Warriors bench won't be limited like that during the rest of the series. The Warriors boast one of the best benches in the NBA, and if the Trail Blazers can manage to get more production from the bench than the Warriors and still lose, there is no hope for them to come away with the series.
Stephen Curry will return

There are various reports stating that Stephen Curry may return as soon as Game 3 and if those rumors are valid, then the Portland Trail Blazers have no chance for an upset. Stephen Curry has torched the Trail Blazers all season and even if he's not 100 percent, he can still do damage. If the Warriors win tonight and Curry comes back in Game 3, even at 70 percent, the Warriors will sweep the Blazers. The Warriors just have too much firepower and the reigning MVP is just too good.
The Warriors have home court advantage

The San Antonio Spurs only lost one game at home the entire regular season, but the Warriors weren't too bad either. The Warriors have only lost two games at home all season and have not lost at home yet during the playoffs. The Warriors have home court during this series and it's unthinkable that they would lose one of their home games to the Blazers. The Warriors have been dominant at home and for the Blazers to upset the Warriors they will need to win a game on the road, which seems highly unlikely.
The Blazers are a decent team that boasts one of the highest scoring duos in the NBA in CJ McCollum and Damian Lillard, but they have virtually no chance to win this series against the Warriors. The Warriors are one of the best teams in the NBA and they will most likely win this series in four or five games. The Warriors are too deep, too athletic, and shoot the three ball too well to lose to a team that just isn't there yet. The Blazers won't win this series, but they should be proud of the remarkable season they had.
