Recap:

The Denver Nuggets were one of the worst teams in the West, mainly due to injuries. They finished 11th in the West which landed them the seventh pick in the NBA Draft, Jamal Murray. Murray should fit in well with the Nuggets other young studs, Emmanuel Mudiay and Nikola Jokic

Free Agents:

Darrell Arthur (Player Option/Declined)

Mike Miller (UFA)

DJ Augustin (UFA)

Who Leaves,Who Stays:

Arthur decided to decline his player option with the team to become a free agent. Mike Miller may retire, whether Augustin will stay or go likely depends on what his role with the team going forward.

Team Needs:

The Denver Nuggets aren’t in rebuild mode but they certainly aren’t buyers. Ownership will likely continue to add youth and ship out big contract players. As for who would be willing to head to Denver at this point it’s hard to say, as Denver has a wide assortment of players currently. With Jamal Murray, Emmanuel Mudiay, Nikola Jokic, Will Barton, Kenneth Faried, Jusuf Nurkic, Gary Harris, Danilo Gallinari and Wilson Chandler, the Nuggets have some talent. They’ll likely add some bench depth with hopes of staying healthy.

Possible Targets:

Denver Nuggets may go after a Jason Smith or Ian Mahinmi, which would bolster their frontcourt depth. It’s also possible the Nuggets could stay quiet or try to add a big piece with all of their assets.
