Recap:

Overall the Suns had a really down year. Point guards Eric Bledsoe and Brandon Knight and swingman TJ Warren missed a large portion of the season due to injury. In addition the Tyson Chandler signing already looks awful after just one season of the 4-year contract. On a positive note Devin Booker had a fantastic rookie season making 1st team All-Rookie. In addition the Suns added two promising power forwards in this years draft in Dragan Bender (4th overall selection) and Marquese Chriss (8th overall selection).

Free Agents:

Unrestricted:

  • Mirza Teletovic

  • Jon Leuer

With Bender and Chriss being added in the draft it looks like the Suns will let both of their free agent power forwards walk.

Team Needs:

  • A trade partner to get rid of Tyson Chandler

  • Better fortune in terms of health

Possible Targets:

I don’t think the Suns need to make any big free agent moves. They have Bledsoe, Knight, Booker, and Archie Goodwin for their backcourt rotation and PJ Tucker and Warren at small forward. Up front they have the two rookies to play power forward and Tyson Chandler and Alex Len at center. Barring a trade or injury their rotation already looks set before the start of free agency.
