LeBron Watch 2017 - Issue 1

Jonathan Ebrahimi

After a ten day hiatus, the Cleveland Cavaliers were back in action last night against the Boston Celtics to kick off the Eastern Conference Finals.

The Cavs showed no rust whatsoever as they ran out to an early lead, outscoring the Celtics 30-19 in the first quarter, and didn’t look back for the full 48 minutes.

LeBron was a force for the full game pouring in 38 points on 58% shooting, adding 9 rebounds and 7 assists in 41 minutes of floor time. This also marked his seventh straight playoff game with 30+ points and is now 4 such games away from tying Elgin Baylor’s record of 11 30+ point games (in the playoffs).

With that, LeBron is now 102 point shy of passing Michael Jordan as the all-time leading scorer in playoff history. He’s also only 3 steals away from passing Jordan and moving into the number 2 spot for all-time playoff steals, and 116 field goals away from passing Jordan in playoff field goals made.

LeBron and the Cavaliers will be back in action against the Celtics on Friday where they will try to take a 2-0 lead before heading back to Cleveland for Game 3.

LeBron Facts: LeBron James has the most 20+ scoring games in NBA playoff history with 176. Michael Jordan had 173 such games.
