LeBron Watch 2017 - Issue 2

Jonathan Ebrahimi

There is only one word in the English language that truly describes the Cleveland Cavaliers performance in last night’s Game 2 victory over the Boston Celtics…

Dominant.

During the second minute of the first quarter, Kyrie Irving scored a spinning hook shot to give the Cavs a 2-0 lead. The Cavaliers would hold the lead for the entire game and go on to win 130-86, reaching seven postseason records in the process.

Last night marked:

  • The largest win in LeBron’s NBA career

  • The largest halftime lead in NBA Playoff history

  • The largest playoff win in Cleveland Cavaliers history

  • The largest Eastern Conference Finals win in NBA history

  • The worst home loss in Boston Celtics history

  • The worst loss by a Number 1 seed in NBA Playoff history

  • The most consecutive victories in NBA Playoff history (13, tied with ’89 Lakers)

LeBron James posted a typically great line of 30 PTS, 4 REB, 7 AST, 4 STL, and 3 BLK, shooting 67% from the field and 67% from the 3-point line.

With those 4 steals, LeBron James passed Michael Jordan for second all-time in total playoffs steals. Now only Scottie Pippen has more steals in the playoffs than James (see below for more career statistics).

LeBron has also now scored 30+ points in 8 straight playoffs games, becoming the first player to do than since Michael Jordan. He is now only 3 games away from tying Elgin Baylor's all-time record of 11 straight 30+ point games.

The series heads to Cleveland for Game 3 on Sunday May 21st, but it looks as though the series is over already.

LeBron Facts: LeBron James has the all-time highest scoring average in NBA Playoff Game 7 history with 33.2 PPG and is the all-time highest scorer in elimination games with 32.8 PPG.
