LeBron Watch 2017 - Final Issue

Last night, the Golden State Warriors put an end to both LeBron’s and the Cleveland Cavaliers’ championship defense after beating them 129-120 in Game 5 of the NBA Finals. For the fifth time in his illustrious career, LeBron James’ season ended in defeat after a gruelling trip to the final round of the playoffs.
LeBron put forth a valiant effort to keep his team’s championship hopes alive, but the overwhelming fire power of the Golden State Warriors was too much for him to overcome. Last night LeBron gave us 41 PTS, 13 REB and 8 AST and still wasn’t enough to overcome Kevin Durant and the rest of the Golden State Warriors.
Throughout the 5 game series, LeBron averaged 33.6 PTS, 12.0 REB, 10.0 AST, 1.4 STL and 1.0 BLK, leading both teams in rebounds and assists while finishing second in scoring to Kevin Durant. In fact, if LeBron had averaged an extra 1.6 points per game, he would have led both Finals’ teams in all three major statistical categories (Points, Rebounds and Assists) for three consecutive years.
Although his 2017 playoff run did not end in an NBA championship, LeBron James was still able to make history. From the first round onward, James was otherworldly giving us game after game of recording breaking brilliance. Here are just some of the highlights from his 2017 playoff accomplishments:
Became the all-time leader in points scored in the NBA Playoffs
Became the all-time leader in free-throws made in the NBA Playoffs
Became the all-time leader in Win Shares in the NBA Playoffs
Became the first player in NBA history to average a triple-double in the Finals
Became the first (along with James Jones) non-Boston Celtic to clinch a berth in 7 consecutive NBA Finals
Entered the top-3 in both points and assists in the NBA Finals
