So far this season, Philadelphia has struggled creating offense outside of Joel Embiid. When Joel Embiid is off the court, the 76ers have an offensive rating of 100.4, which would rank dead last in the NBA. Robert Covington and JJ Reddick are space creators and good on catch-and-shoot opportunities, but get exposed when asked to carry the offensive load. When Joel Embiid is on the court the 76ers offensive rating is 110, which would rank 3rd in the NBA.
With the 76ers spotting injury track record, it would be fairly safe to assume that Markelle Fultz is going to be a non-contributor this year. When Ben Simmons moves off the ball, the backup point guard situation gets very murky. TJ McConnell is a fan favorite, but the 76ers have a net rating of -2.3 when he is on the court. Jerryd Bayless has not been much better with a net rating of -2.1.
The 76ers bench has been pretty awful this season and they are extremely thin. Marvin Williams ranks 17th in ESPNs RPM at pf, compared to Amir Johnson, Rashawn Holmes, and Trevor Booker ranking 44th, 55th, and 62nd. Marvin Williams has been excellent at catch-and-shoot opportunities shooting 42.5% from three averaging 3.6 attempts per game. He would be able to replace the lost production from Dario Saric.
Bringing in Kemba Walker, Marvin Williams, and Frank Kaminski would strengthen the 76ers starting lineup and bench. The starting lineup would be Kemba, Redick, Covington, Simmons, and Embiid, with Marvin Williams, Luwawu-Cabarrot, Booker, and Justin Anderson off the bench. Staggering Kemba and Embiid would give the 76ers a dynamic offensive player on the court at all times.
Charlotte has been open to moving Kemba Walker, and are in one of the worst salary cap situations going forward. They are currently almost 18 million over the salary cap with a team salary of a little more than 117 million, and have 118 million committed to 2018-2019. Moving Kemba and Marvin Williams gets them off some future money and they can get back some promising young pieces in return.
Dario Saric showed some excellent playmaking potential last season, but has gotten a little lost in the mix this season. I don't believe he fits in long term with Embiid, Simmons, and Fultz, and needs the ball in his hands to show his full skill set. Korkmaz was a highly regarded draft stash, and is an excellent shooter and can be a secondary creator. Being capped out and loaded with bad contracts it's going to be hard for Charlotte to add talent, but getting two recent first round picks would be a good start.
Philly would also send out a lottery protected first round pick. Compared to the Jimmy Butler trade, the value seems similar. Adding the extra first round pick would be compensation for taking on the Jerryd Bayless contract.
