Qualifying Offers

The Portland Trail Blazers will not tender Pat Connaughton a qualifying offer, a league source told The Athletic. He will become an unrestricted free agent as a result. - @MikeAScotto

Rumors

Paul, who represents several other players entering into free agency -- Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Nerlens Noel among them -- will conduct all his business over the phone when free agency begins, sources told ESPN. - @mcten

Sources told cleveland.com this week that the Cavs would not trade Love, a five-time All-Star who is owed about $50 million over the next two seasons, if James leaves as a free agent. Sources say James is strongly considering joining the Los Angeles Lakers. - Cleveland.com

Cleveland wants to develop its young talent -- including rookie point guard Collin Sexton -- but wouldn't pass up the right opportunity to add an established veteran with James to improve their chances of reaching another Finals, sources indicated. - Cleveland.com

Among the non-Kawhi bait players around the NBA who are available via trade, per league sources: Denver’s Wilson Chandler, New York’s Courtney Lee, Atlanta’s Kent Bazemore. And as @TheSteinLine reported, the Raptors have let it be known there are no untouchables on their roster. - @daldridgetnt

Notes

The Lakers are planning to guarantee center Ivica Zubac's contract for the 2018-19 season, league sources tell Yahoo. Zubac had contract guarantee date today. - @ShamsCharania

Hawks waive Isaiah Taylor. Avoid paying $300k guarantee. - @MCunninghamAJC

Something of note 12 hours before free agency: If KD takes another 1+1 deal (rumblings are it's heading that way), it would save the Warriors a ton in tax money. Salary next year would be $30mil instead of max of around $35.4mil. That would increase likelihood Warriors use MLE. - @anthonyVslater
