According to Shams Charania, Greg Monroe has agreed to sign with the Toronto Raptors on a one-year, $2.2 million deal.
Monroe spent time with the Milwaukee Bucks, Phoenix Suns, and Boston Celtics last season. He averaged 10.3 points per game and 6.9 rebounds per game in 20.4 minutes per game.
Monroe is a great passer and a beast in the post. Other than that, he can’t do much. He is slow, can’t shoot from outside the paint, and is not a strong defender. Oddly enough, this is what makes him so valuable to Toronto. Monroe can be used in certain situations and certain situations only. He can give them 10-12 minutes a game that consist of rebounding and battling in the post. All without costing much more than 2 million-dollars..
