It’s finally happened. THE CAPTAIN MARVEL TRAILER HAS DROPPED!
The Sixers also appointed a general manager after Bryan Colangelo was let go in unceremonious circumstances. The former VP of basketball operations was a surprise choice after an extended search landed him the job.
Brand, the former GM of the Sixers' G League affiliate in Delaware, is not far removed from the game as a player and has certainly made an impression as a front office executive.
His playing career saw him land a Rookie of the Year award (1999-00, multiple All-Star appearances (2002, 2006) and a spot on the All-NBA 2nd team (2005-06). Brand’s authority within the front office was detailed by the Philly Voice.
“A team source who spoke to PhillyVoice insisted Brand would have, "ample authority," and that he would have the authority to make basketball ops decisions as the leader of the group including Alex Rucker, Marc Eversley, Ned Cohen, and their respective underlings.”
Despite their front office being now fully formed, The Process is far from over. With a star studded free agency class set for 2019, the franchise are now on good footing as they continue to solidify themselves as a championship contender.
