While the rest of his Sacramento Kings teammates were participating in team media day, Bogdan Bogdanovic was in New York having an arthroscopic procedure performed on his left knee. Reports were that he tweaked his knee in the FIBA qualifiers with the Serbian national team.
The initial timetable for the 26-year-old sharpshooter is 4-6 weeks, which will hinder his ability to play in the first couple games of the season.
This will actually be the second surgery that Bogdanovic has had on his left knee this summer. The first was a meniscus debridement performed on April 24th. I imagine that this second surgery is similar to the first, with a goal to clean up any structures in the knee that may be causing pain and inflammation.
The Kings have a couple of pieces that can fill the void, but fans will be praying for a quick recovery for one of their more promising pieces.
