For 13 of their 19 games the Nets have had the same starting lineup. The only reason for changes have been due to injuries and illness to LeVert, Allen and Crabbe. It now feels like the the starters are in need of a shakeup.
Nick and I have touched on possible changes to the starting lineup on the Brooklyn Buzz. The most obvious one is subbing out veteran, Jared Dudley, for one of DeMarre Carroll or Rondae Hollis-Jefferson. Both Carroll and RHJ were starters for large portions of the 2017-18 season. DeMarre started in all 73 games he played while Rondae started 59 of his 68 games.
The decision to start Jared Dudley wasn’t an incorrect one by coach Kenny Atkinson. RHJ and Carroll have had interrupted starts to their seasons due to injury. With Treveon Graham also out for significant time so far, the most logical makeshift starters was the former Suns forward.
Hollis-Jefferson’s health seems to be peaking as recent performances against Dallas and Miami have shown. His form warrants a return to the starters in place of Dudley. Again, it wasn’t the wrong move to start Dudley initially, however, continuing to do so, would be.
