Trade Deadline Marathon: Day 3.6

Dalton Pence

BKN receives: F Kristaps Porzingis

NYK receives: PG D’Angelo Russell, SF Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, Brooklyn's 2019 First Round Pick, Denver's 2019 First Round Pick

For Brooklyn, this is a no-brainer: adding Porzingis would allow them to reach the next level. Giving Spencer Dinwiddie a contract extension means that the Nets can be flexible in terms of D’Angelo Russell, who the Knicks would secure as their point guard of the future. The 22-year-old Russell is having the best season of his career, averaging career-highs in both points (18.0) and assists (6.3) per game. Especially with the rumors of the Knicks looking to dish Frank Ntilikina, Russell would be a huge addition, despite Emmanuel Mudiay’s play thus far.

On top of that, the Knicks would add a quality role player who is averaging 9.9 points per game at 24-years-old. Brooklyn would also be sending a first-round picks, which serves as the icing on the cake. For a franchise rumored to have been interested in fielding offers, there may not be one more promising than this one. The question remains: will New York believe that the package is enough or does BKN have to include more picks?
