NYK receives: PF Jabari Parker
CHI receives: C Enes Kanter
A straight swap. The reality of the situation for both franchises is that there are not many teams lining up to trade for either player, but a lateral move could work for New York and Chicago. The Knicks add a young forward with the option to retain him next season, and the Bulls acquire a double-double big man who would provide immediate impact. This may not be the most exciting trade, but both teams are looking to move on from these players.
As for Parker, he is currently averaging 14.6 PPG and 6.8 RPG at 23 years-old. The production is evident, but shooting woes and fit concerns have turned Parker into somewhat of a journeyman the past 365 days. In the best case scenario, Parker finds a fit in the Big Apple and his progression gives the Knicks another dimension; in the worst case scenario, the move doesn’t pan out and the Knicks don’t pick up his team option.
