MIN receives: Kenneth Faried, Treveon Graham
BKN receives: Anthony Tolliver, Jerryd Bayless
Credit for this trade proposal goes to GNYR who proposed it originally on his page before running it by me.
From the Nets perspective they trade out Kenneth Faried, who hasn’t secured the game time he’s wanted, and in return get a better stretch four in Anthony Tolliver. Tolliver is a career 37.6% shooter from the arc and would fit in seamlessly into Brooklyn’s offense. He may have been relegated to deep on Minnesota’s bench but as is usually the case, it’s all about fit.
Whether Kenneth Faried is a better fit on the Timberwolves than Tolliver remains to be seen. The addition of Graham from the Nets side gives Minnesota another rotation piece who can contribute off the bench with his defense and energy.
Brooklyn GM Sean Marks went out of his way to sign Graham in the offseason. The sticking point will be if he’s willing to bite the bullet and trade him based off his recent shoddy form.
The forgotten man in this deal, Jerryd Bayless, has played 57 minutes for the T-Wolves this season and could either be a Jared Dudley type for Brooklyn or bought out as GNYR mentioned above.
The Nets recent injury issues have tested their depth. The acquisition of a bench piece like Tolliver would help alleviate that concern as they look to cement their spot in the clustered Eastern Conference playoff race.
