Brooklyn Nets receive: Terrence Ross, Jonathon Simmons
Orlando Magic receive: Allen Crabbe, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, Knicks 2019 2nd round draft pick
Brooklyn is currently sitting in the sixth seed for the Eastern Conference, indicating they will be buyers for the upcoming deadline. Here, the Nets would be acquiring Terrence Ross, a seven year veteran forward who could be an ideal fit for Kenny Atkinson. Averaging 37.8% from deep on six attempts per game, Ross could fill in for the roles of the injured Jared Dudley and Caris LeVert. As for Simmons, he is a solid defender as well as an average shooter. Simmons would replace the role of the departing Hollis-Jefferson, with Simmons providing a more consistent shot off the bench.
For Orlando, they would be taking Allen Crabbe for two seasons, as well as upcoming restricted free agent Rondae Hollis-Jefferson. Jefferson has been inconsistent for the Nets this season, due in large part to multiple injuries that have kept him sidelined for 21 games. Despite the struggles, he has shown flashes of being a great role player in this league, with his best season coming in 2017-18, averaging 13.9/6.8/2.5 on 47% shooting. For Orlando, it would be worth the risk to see what he can do for the remainder of the year and be able to re-sign him for a cheap deal, or match any offer given to him. The Magic would also be acquiring the Knicks 2019 second round pick, which is more than likely a top 4 pick of the second round.
The trade would provide depth for Brooklyn as they look to solidify a playoff spot, and would give Orlando a pick valued the same as a late first rounder.
