Overview:

In his 13th NBA season, JJ Redick averaged a career high 18.1 PPG and was an integral part in the 76ers playoff run. He set a franchise record with 240 made three-pointers in the 2018-2019 season.

Regular Season Stats: 18.1 PPG; 50.2 2P%; 39.7 3P%; 89.4 FT%; 2.7 AST; 2.4 REB; 1.3 TOV; 0.4 STL; 0.2 BLK

Postseason Stats: 13.4 PPG; 48.6 2P%; 41.4 3P%; 85.0 FT%; 1.6 AST; 1.4 REB; 1.8 TOV; 0.1 STL; 0.3 BLK

Age: 35 (Turned 35 on June 24th)

Strengths:

JJ Redick is a very effective mid-range shooter. He averages almost 49% from inside the arc. Playing with Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons has improved his off-ball movement and made him a lethal catch-and-shoot guard.

Weaknesses:

Despite his efficient production on offense, Redick is a lackluster defender. He simply does not have the necessary athleticism to take on slashing guards. While his lack of defensive prowess was not the end-all, be-all on the 76ers, it may be for another team lacking a 6-foot-9 point guard.

Ideal Role:

In an ideal role, Redick would be the starting SG on the team. He has proven himself as a consistent shooter with excellent shooting acumen.

Possible Landing Spots:

Los Angeles Lakers: Redick would be an exceptional addition to the Lakers roster. Paired with LeBron, Anthony Davis and Kyle Kuzma, Redick would add depth and help space the floor.

Los Angeles Clippers: The Clippers already have a more than capable shooter in Landry Shamet but adding Redick would put an elite shooter on the floor at all times. Los Angeles’ other free agency acquisitions may be the final influence on whether these two parties can come to an agreement.

Houston Rockets: If Redick joined the Rockets, he would have to come off the bench and rotate in the small ball rotation for D’Antoni’s offense. Alongside James Harden and Chris Paul, Redick would thrive in a catch and shoot role.

Expected Next Contract:

Reddick can expect either a 2 year $30 million deal or a 3 years, $40 million deal depending on how a team values him.
