Another week down and only one regular week to go! As always, we take a look at five guys who stood out this week and five guys who wished they didn't stand out. As well as 10 waiver-wire grabs that could potentially put you over the hump this week.
Fantasy Studs
5 guys who stood out from the rest of the pack.
Caris LeVert. LeVert hit some big milestones this week. He scored a career-high 51 points on Wednesday and then two games later put up his first triple-double.
Lonzo Ball. Lonzo has been out there looking like prime Steph Curry. In back-to-back games this week he hit a combined 14 three's. He's scoring well, and continues to rebound and dish out assists at a high level.
Duncan Robinson. He’s been hitting three’s all season long, however his last three games he’s shooting lights out, going 24-37 from behind the arc.
Ricky Rubio. Rubio hit a triple-double this week, but all season long he's quietly been one of the leagues top players in the assist category. He's third behind LeBron James and Trae Young for assists per game.
Norman Powell. This may seem like a surprise, but Powell has been on an absolute tear since returning. This week, he came in second in points per game, only behind Anthony Davis.
Fantasy Duds
5 guys who probably wish they could have a do-over.
Joe Ingles. It might be time to let 'ol Joe go. Since being moved to the bench his production has taken a big hit. He's still doing ok in the assist category, but everything else is pretty, meh.
Trae Young. All of the fantasy greats have an off week here and there, Trae Young is no different. In his two games this week, he shot under 30% and only dished out a combined six assists.
Rui Hachimura. He’s only owned in 58% of leagues, however even still, his last few games have been bad. He was 0-14 in his last two games.
DeAndre Jordan. Some days DJ gets you 12 and 10, other days he gets you two and four. It's hard to trust what he's going to do night in and night out from a fantasy perspective.
Wendell Carter Jr. He's owned in 75% of leagues, so you'd think he'd put up better numbers, but he's just not there yet. He's good for seven points and seven rebounds most nights, which isn't terrible, but it's also nothing to get excited about.
Week 20 Overview
Outside of a surprise firing of Nets coach Kenny Atkinson, nothing major really happened. If you are in a standard head-to-head fantasy league, things are most likely winding down.
Waiver Wire Potential
Here are 10 guys who are owned in 50% or less in standard Yahoo fantasy basketball leagues could possibly help your team this week.
Eric Paschall, SF/PF (49%). Speaking of rookies, the Warriors rookie is also having a nice season of his own. He's been a decent source of points, rebounds, and assists.
Derrick White, PG/SG (46%). He's scoring has taken a jump recently and he's been a good source of steals too and a blocks surprisingly.
Seth Curry, PG/SG (42%). It's true that Curry is dealing with a slight ankle injury, but that only means others will avoid him. He's been a steady threat from behind the arc all season and has become an important part of the Dallas offense.
Jusuf Nurkic, C (42%). No one knows what to expect from Nurkic out of the gate, but he's one of the leagues best centers when fully healthy. He's definitely worth a look as you push towards the playoffs.
Naz Reid, C (39%). With KAT out, Reid has been given a bigger opportunity. There will be consistency issues here, but the potential is there too.
Rudy Gay, SF/PF (39%). He may not be the player he once was, but he's still providing quality minutes for the Spurs. He's averaging over 14 points and six rebounds per game this week.
Aron Baynes, C (34%). How is Baynes owned in so few leagues? The big man just dropped 37 points and 16 rebounds with nine made three's!
Donte DiVincenzo, PG/SG (34%). If you need an uptick in assists, DiVincenzo isn't going to kill it for you, but you'll get a steady stream. Same for rebounds and points.
Damion Lee, SG (33%). Lee continues to cook in the absence of the Warriors bigger names. Fire him up if you need help with points, three's, rebounds, and the occasional assist.
Brandon Knight PG/SG (16%). Someone on Detroit has to soak up minutes, and Knight looks to be back in the fold. Don't expect too much, but he could provide a boost in assists and points, while mainly helping you win the 3-point category.
